About Jaki
Jaki are expressed in demon-like figures as the symbol of disaster and are often stepped on by the Four Heavenly Kings. In Buddhism, Jaki also can find salvation.
Four Heavenly Kings wearing armor and holding weapons serve their commander, Taishakuten, in order to protect the four corners of heaven.
Therefore, they will sometimes be found in the four corners of a temple's main altar.
The guardian of the East, South, West, and North is Jikokuten, Zochoten, Komokuten, and Tamonten, respectively.
